Artificial sports grass and turf is becoming the norm for sports and multi-use fields, mainly because it's proven to save huge amounts of money on water, reseeding, surface repairs, resodding and maintenance. Also, the number of sports-related injuries are greatly reduced because of the consistency of the surface on artificial turf/grass versus live grass. An example would be a live grass sports field after considerable amount of rain and foot traffic from games. This type of field surface area creates uneven and dangerous surfaces to the participants, and basically becomes a "mud bowl."
Also, in order to prevents a live field from being destroyed, organizations commonly postpone games until the fields are dry enough to be played on without damaging them. As opposed to artificial turf, rain or no rain, it doesn't matter. Properly installed outdoor artificial fields typically drain water at a minimum rate of 6 inches per hour. We will install any turf, but we prefer to install TENCATE artifcial grass and turf synthetic products.
